I've called Cthulhtech humans a nascent Interim Coalition of Humanity, and I mean it. Cthulhutech humans are probably more xenophobic as a whole that pre-Heresy humanity was. If they can find a way of using them, I'd see the Imperium using as many parapsychics as they can get their hands on.Ĥ) Policy towards aliens - Yeah. Moreover, if the "Parapsychics can't learn sorcery and learning sorcery supresses latent parapsychics" was applied to psykers, too, it might be a safer way of making humanity into a more powerful species.ģ) Parapsychics - Safer than psykers, "only" set things on fire and get stuck on active mind reading when things go wrong, rather than tearing holes into the Warp. It's also quite a lot less dangerous than warp stuff in 40k terms it wouldn't involve the Warp, but would instead be direct reality violation, in the same way as the C'tan do it (and as the Star Gods are pre-human very powerful material entities with sufficiently advanced technology, that's really rather appropriate). Cthulhutech sorcery is not like 40k sorcery, because it's a science, not a supplication to a higher power. The point is, the Emperor would probably view it as better than worship.Ģ) Use of sorcery - Actually not that bad. On the other hand, arcanotech and sorcery is sort of passively dangerous, while Chaos can be more active in the way it corrupts you. Seriously, the way they treat the Arcane reduces it to a known factor, which you know not to screw around with, which is arguably better than how the Emperor, with his "Just ignore it and don't tell people about it" approach to Chaos, did it. Insanity from Lovecraftian Horror is really similar (as in, Lovecraft was a notable influence in the development of the 40k setting, so it's basically identical) to insanity to exposure to Chaos, and both should affect each other equally.Īlso, the NEG is one of the few governments in fiction where they don't have to be given a "resistant to Chaos corruption" ability in crossovers, as they're already set up to deal with infiltrators and traitors in that way, and (depending on what the crossover rules say), given that they can cure, via arcanomedicine, being Outsider Tainted (at least from some sources), they might even be able to cure some mutations.īut let's look at how the Emperor would view the NEG (and I'm ignoring the OP's no AWS rule, because it's a) less interesting that way, and b) doesn't make sense):ġ) Rejection of faith and use of science to explain things, even things that it might not be best to think about - A+. I'd go as far as to say that the "immunity to AWS" for the 40kers is a bloody peculiar act of ROB.
